Oil for 306 1.8i 16v

Sorry for typing in English, but my French is not so good.

I'm from Portugal and i have a 10W40 Shell oil semi-synthetic.

Should i put a 100% synthetic oil?

PS:

When i finish a 10 km mountain of heavy acceleration, i can hear too loud the valves working. It seems that the oil don't comes till te top of my motor.

Is it normal?

En général la 100% synthèse est préconisée pour les moteurs à haut rendements ou turbo compressés, pour une 1.8 16v je pense pas ke ca devrait poser pb.

So, 100% synthetic oil is way better than half synthetic. With 100 % synthetic, i'm able to do a bit more kilometers with a full tank, about 2-3 % more. I usually use 5w40 or 0w50, wherever is avaible at my local store. Plus, your engine will wear less quickly (better
lubrication).

About your valves, i'm able to listen them a bit more after heavy driving, but not that louder than normal use. I think it's normal, but someone will confirm this.

Anyway, what's your engine type ?

Thks for the tradution.

So, do you think that the extra valve noise after a moutain road have something to do with the malfuncion of the oil pump? or type of oil?
